Marines seeking a few good pups

If you are a young man or young woman ages 14 through 17, you may be eligible to attend the annual Devil Pups summer encampment at Camp Pendleton, Calif. The Marine Corps hosts and trains the candidates. Don't let the name Devil Pups throw you. Marines are often referred to as Devil Dogs (a name that was bestowed upon them by the German soldiers whom they were fighting during World War I).

So Marines are Devil Dogs and the kids that complete the encampment are known as Devil Pups. This is not a boot camp for bad guys; we only accept good kids that are in good shape physically and mentally. If you are interested, just call retired U.S. Marine Maj. George Class at 782-9521.
