The Carson Valley Day celebration was a decided success and was attended by at least a thousand people. At noon, the pit where the meat was barbecued was opened and the multitude of people was served with roast meat and coffee. Tables were placed beneath the trees at the park and many Valley people enjoyed a picnic lunch. Those from a distance were served salad, bread, meat, pickles, cake and coffee by the farm bureau members and the American Legion.

Fish plants, financed by Anaconda Copper Co., were made at Horseshoe Bend and Sheep Bridge areas. Fish and Game officials say more stocking is scheduled for this week, with the fish planted to be marked with fin tags. Many thousands of trout have been stocked in rivers, lakes and streams in western Nevada during the past several months.

The 20-30 Club's assembly line of smoked beef, beans, olives, rolls and butter chips kicked out enough meals for 1,200 people during the 75th annual Carson Valley days celebration at Minden Park. About 10 members of the service club's assembly line used most of the 1,500 pounds of donated smoked beef, 15 cases of industrial-size cans of beans and nearly 3,000 rolls to feed the crowd which lined up along Esmeralda Avenue.
