Dear graduates,

Congratulations on your graduation from Douglas High School. You join a long and illustrious tradition of graduates who have spent their public school years in Carson Valley.

Some of those graduates have left the state to continue their studies, others have stayed in Nevada to attend our universities.

Some have joined the military, whether in time of war or peace, and served their country. Some have been bomber pilots, others have been infantrymen, others have been sailors.

Many over the years have stayed in the Valley and found work here, on family ranches or businesses, finding employment with local businesses and in some cases founding businesses of their own.

Whether graduating from Gardnerville or Minden, whether there was a class of 12 or a class of 420, Douglas graduates share the distinction of being from Carson Valley.

Your time here has been valuable to those of us privileged to watch your progress, and now it's time for you to march into the future.
