Book signing Aug. 1 for new McKenna mystery

Staff Reports

Todd Borg signs copies of his latest Owen McKenna mystery, "Tahoe Heat," 3 p.m. Aug. 1, at the Eddy Street Book Exchange, 1225 Eddy St., Gardnerville. Borg discusses the writing of the book and maybe hintd at what's coming next for Owen and Spot.

"Tahoe Heat" is about a bio-tech genius who owns a company located on Mt. Rose, an elderly neighbor who tunes a piano to leave a message behind, and a mustang named Heat who wanders the Tahoe forests instead of his natural home in the desert.

This is the eighth in the McKenna mystery series set in and around Lake Tahoe. Douglas County is often visited because it is the home of McKenna's friend who is a member of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. McKenna's partner Spot has been known to stay at the deputy's home while his partner is off working on a case.

Celebrate the publication of Borg's new book. Festivities beginning at 3 p.m. take the place of the usual Eclectic Book Club meeting.

Information, call Borg fan Linda Finch at the Eddy Street Book Exchange, 782-5484.
