Relay fundraiser Saturday

The Walgreens Relay for Life team hosts a barbecue, bounce house and employee bake sale, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, in the parking lot, 1342 Highway 395, Gardnerville. Change of date for Sertoma Bingo

Because of the July 4th holiday, Carson Valley Sertoma Community Bingo will be July 10 at the Douglas County Senior Center, 2300 Meadow Lane, Gardnerville. Doors open at 11 a.m., early bird at 12:30 p.m., regular session at 1 p.m. Progressive blackout is $600 with 55 numbers or less. Drawing for raffle prizes. Coffee and popcorn provided. Summer camp begins Monday

Museum lecture Thursday

New location for antiques show

The Minden Antiques Show and Sale with appraisal clinic is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 10 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 11 at the historic COD Garage in downtown Minden. Appraisals $5 per item. Admission $2. Event benefits in part Carson Valley Pops Orchestra. Information, 782-4951.


See you later, alligator

The summer reading series continues with alligator stories and crafts, 3:30 p.m. July 12, at the Douglas County Public Library, 1625 Library Lane, Minden. Children 3 and older watch an alligator grow, go on a gator hunt, sing songs, and listen to Miss Carol read "Zack's Alligator" by Shirley Mozelle. Young children should be accompanied by an adult.
