A memorial service is 4 p.m. Thursday at St. Gall Catholic Church for Alice Weber Kaufmann, 85, who died Jan. 23, 2010, at her Minden residence.
Born Dec. 23, 1924, in Bismarck, N.D., she attended Ursuline College in Kentucky, and taught school in Los Angeles and the San Diego area for many years.
She moved to Minden following the death of her husband John. They were married for 58 years.
Mrs. Kaufmann was an avid swimmer, volunteered at the Friends In Service Helping thrift store and was involved in ministry at her church.
She is survived by her daughters Betsy (Kevin) Weiss, Doug (Ruth) Kaufmann, Leslie (Jerry) Evans, Mark (Vera) Kaufmann, grandchildren Ben, Emilie, Ethan, Evan, Will, Virginia, Henry, Todd and her beloved dog, Riley.
