A private gathering will be held in honor of George Andrew "Bud" Silk, 100, who died Jan. 19, 2010, at Manor Care Nursing Home.
Born March 5, 1909, in Windsor, Calif., he was a prune farmer, and also worked as a heavy equipment operator.
He served in the U.S. Army in World War II.
Mr. Silk is preceded in death by his wife, Helen.
He is survived by his children, Kathy Silk, Margie (Brad) Watson, and Ken (Julie) Silk; grandchildren Damon, Levi, Brian, and Rebecca; and great-grandchildren Jude and Lucy Vee. Arrangements entrusted to Walton's Funerals and Cremations, Gardnerville.
