Soccer: Ex-assistant Price head coach of Nevada soccer

RENO, Nev. (AP) - Former assistant coach Melissa Price has been named the head coach of the Nevada women's soccer team.


Price spent the past two years as an assistant with the Wolf Pack, helping to lead them to the final game of the Western Athletic Conference tournament for only the second time in school history this past season.


Price earlier served as an assistant coach at the University of Miami, Illinois and Virginia. She played at the University of Maryland in the mid-19902 where she was a 2-time time NCAA quarterfinalist and a Mid-Atlantic All-Region team honoree.


Athletic director Cary Groth announced the formal appointment on Thursday.
