Woman hurt in Foothill accident

A single vehicle rollover on Foothill Road resulted in a Gardnerville woman being taken to Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center on Thursday.

Kayla Gunderson, 18, was hurt when she lost control of her 1992 Mazda 626 at about 9 a.m. about a mile south of the intersection with Muller Lane.

Gunderson was trapped in the car and bleeding, but was otherwise conscious and alert, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Sheridan Acres firefighters were on scene quickly and had Gunderson out of the vehicle within 15 minutes.

She was transported by East Fork ambulance. Traffic on Foothill was held up for a few minutes while rescuers extracted Gunderson.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office investigating the accident. No cause has been released yet.
