Volunteers sought for sheriff's Ranchos substation

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is seeking volunteers to work at the substation in the Gardnerville Ranchos.

Volunteers work a four-hour shift one day a week at the substation, 1281-9 Kimmerling, in the Tillman Center.

The position is nonpaid, and volunteers may choose the day they work.

Duties include answering inquiries by telephone or in person, issuing dog licenses, bicycle registrations, tree cutting and special use permits, and generally assisting individuals in need of services provided by the sheriff's office.
