H1N1-related death reported in S. Nevada

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Health officials are reporting the first swine flu-related death of 2010.

The Southern Nevada Health District says a 29-year-old woman with underlying health conditions died within the past week.

The total number of H1N1-related deaths in southern Nevada is 36.

Since Aug. 31 of last year there have been 3,421 reported cases of swine flu in southern Nevada.

The health district says the H1N1 vaccine is now being offered to the general public.

Initially only target groups including people like pregnant women, those who care for young children and certain others were offered the vaccine.
