Register nonpartisan

EDITOR:

You know it's coming being an election year and all. Harry Gried has $10 million in the bank and Gried Jr. has $3 million so you know it's coming.

I speak of course of the inevitable robo calls - all timed to interrupt your dinner or make you answer the phone at the worst possible time. And it won't be just from the Grieds; it will be coming from all sides.

There is something you can do now though to prevent this before your own political party sells your name to anyone and everyone. Yes, your political party sells your name and phone number as a way to raise money. You can re-register your voter registration and leave out your phone number; it is not required. Repeat - not required.

May I also suggest that if you're completely, totally nauseated with both parties - you re-register as a nonpartisan? You can still vote any way you want in the election, but you are no longer a part of the blind, aimless herd that is never heard.

The county clerk's phone number to do this is 782-9020. Just ask for the form to re-register your voter registration. You can be free of the robo calls in about a week.

Editor's Note: Nonpartisans, or Republicans and Democrats for that matter, can't vote any way they want in Nevada's closed primary election. They can only vote in the party for which they are registered.
