Marv and Robbie Thorson of Minden announce the engagement of Christina Rose Gillespie to Dr. David Matthew White.

Gillespie is the daughter of Robbie Thorson of Minden and Martin Gillespie of Apex, N.C.

She is a 1999 graduate of Douglas High School and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a masters degree from the University of Phoenix. She works at Greater Nevada Credit Union.

White's parents are Irene and John White of Reno. He is the son of the late Stuart Schraeder. He is a 1994 graduate of Wooster High School.

He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, and his dental credentials from the University of Michigan. He works in dental practices in Reno and Elko.

A Hawaiian wedding is planned on the island of Oahu on Aug. 21.
