Airport needs a light

EDITOR:

Another Airport Road and Highway 395 intersection accident, but no fatality. Guess we (Nevada Department of Transportation) lucked out again; no need for another light on 395 yet.

Too bad it takes at least a few fatal accidents to get such a common-sense accident-prevention device installed, but budget limitations must be observed. Is that the reason one hasn't been installed there yet?

The oft-repeated statement that "the drive to the airport is the most dangerous part of flying" is certainly true for the Minden-Tahoe Airport. Perhaps the local citizens and others travelling on 395 should lobby county and state agencies for this much-needed safety device.

Do we really need more accidents before we get a traffic light installed here?
