Power restored to Gardnerville and Minden

A power outage that took out the commercial corridor of Minden and Gardnerville from Buckeye Lane to High School Street.

About 5,500 customers were affected by the outage, which took place at noon in Carson Valley.

NV Energy spokesman Karl Walquist said circuits from three substations that serve parts of the Valley and Carson City were knocked out at about 11:50 a.m.

The outage extended along Higway 395 up to Edmonds in Carson City. Power was restored around 12:42 p.m.

Among the substations that lost power was one at Heybourne Road in the north Valley.
