Man waives drug case hearing

A Gardnerville man waived a preliminary hearing on Wednesday and will go to Douglas County District Court on a charge of possession of methamphetamine.

Camron Lewis Murray, 28, was arrested on Nov. 18 after his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend reported his car stolen.

According to the police report, the girlfriend who shared a child with the ex-boyfriend had the car to use and lent it to Murray, something the ex-boyfriend opposed.

Murray returned with the car and it was determined he had permission to take it, but a routine background check revealed he had a warrant on a ticket for reckless driving.

He was taken into custody and during booking, deputies discovered a plastic bag containing methamphetamine in one of his pockets.

Attorney Tod Young told Justice of the Peace Tom Perkins that Murray intended to plead guilty to a count of possession of a controlled substance. Perkins ordered Murray to appear in Douglas County District Court on Jan. 10.
