Woman arrested for burglarizing parents' home

A Carson City resident is in custody for allegedly burglarizing her parents' Gardnerville home while they were out of town.

Ashley Rund, 24, is accused with breaking into the home and making off with more than $20,000 in cash and jewelry.

Rund, who is a methamphetamine user, left an Orange County rehab center on Aug. 6 and flew back to Reno. She said Randal Green drove her down to Douglas County where they went to the home. Rund told deputies that they went to her parents' home on Aug. 7, breaking into the master bedroom and taking the items.

Most of the items were sold for narcotics. She told investigators that on Aug. 9 she was checked into Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center for an overdose.
