Gaming alliance at Visitor's Authority donate $20,000

As a part of an ongoing initiative to support area non-profits, the Lake Tahoe Gaming Alliance and the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority donated $20,000 to four local charities.

Christmas Cheer received $10,000; Tahoe Youth and Family Services $5,000; South Lake Tahoe Women's Center $3,000 and the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe $2,000.

"This generous donation to Christmas Cheer will feed most of our community during the holiday season," said Tom Davis of Christmas Cheer. "With more people needing our support we could use more donations because every bit helps. Thank you to all who support our organization."

The selected organizations impact large numbers of people in the community who can benefit the most, said Mike Bradford, Lake Tahoe Gaming Alliance board member.

"It's through our No. 1 funding resource, tourism, that enables us to give back to local non-profits," said Carol Chaplin, executive director of the LTVA. "We have made this an integral part of our programs initiatives."
