Anita Baldwin, daughter of the late E.J. Baldwin, has gone back to the days of the crusades for the design for the magnificent hotel with which she will replace the Hotel Tallac on the shores of Lake Tahoe. The prohibition enforcement boys made an unannounced visit to Gardnerville and in a raid at the Ritchford hotel, cut around the end without interference, knocked the barkeeper William J. Morgan over with a surprise tackle on the forty yard line and had clear running for a touchdown, with several bottles of whiskey, gin and wine. Before the visiting team had time to make another kickoff, the home boys went into a huddle, and through their latest signals (not provided by Knute Rockne) hid the ball filled with pre-Christmas spirits and prevented further touchdowns.

A group of Genoa boosters will drop their lawsuit against Douglas County if a new version of a downtown project is approved. Bette Kanelos originally proposed a 12,280-square-foot building at the northwest corner of Nixon and Main streets. Town residents protested, saying the building would dwarf everything around it and dilute Genoa's historic character.
