Bonanza community editor joins Parasol staff

Jean Eick, community editor at the North Lake Tahoe Bonanza, will become the newest member of the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation, the organization announced Tuesday.

As communications manager for Parasol, Eick will be responsible for coordinating information for donors, local nonprofit partners and the community at large on the topics of philanthropy and the positive impact of the nonprofit community, said Claudia Andersen, CEO of the Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation.

"In this new economy we live in, the nonprofit sector and its supporters are more crucial than ever in building a prosperous and sustainable community," Andersen said. "With Jean's heartfelt and approachable communication style, the world of philanthropy and the work of the community foundation will come to life, encouraging all of us to work together to build a strong Tahoe community, now and for the future."

Eick has been with the North Lake Tahoe Bonanza the past four years, most of them spent as community editor.

"The North Lake Tahoe Bonanza has benefited greatly from having Jean represent it within the Incline Village community," said Bonanza managing editor Kevin MacMillan.

"While we'll miss her as a valued member of our Bonanza team, we're looking forward to working with Jean, Claudia and the entire Parasol team on future collaboration projects and community and nonprofit endeavors."

Eick, an Incline resident the past five years, begins her new role with Parasol next week.

"Jean has always been such a good friend of Parasol's and such an asset to our community," Andersen said. "We are simply delighted to have her join our team."
