9/11 commemorative dinner speakers announced

One of the architects of the early operations plans in Afghanistan will speak at the Sierra Nevada Republican Women's 10th annual 9/11 Commemorative Dinner on Sept. 10 at Genoa Lakes Supper Club.

Retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Andre Provancha was deployed to Central Command headquarters, where with a joint military staff, he assisted in building the Afghan operations plan.

He facilitated the integration of electronic warfare, network warfare, psychological operations, and ground/air forces to destroy the Taliban and rebuild a centralized Afghan government.

Provancha will share speaking duties with Rep. Dean Heller, R-Nev. Heller is seeking his third term in the House of Representatives.

The evening will start with a social and no-host bar at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. The speakers' addresses will start at approximately 7:15 p.m. The meal choices this year are tri-tip, salmon arlecchino, and chicken primavera.
