Towns offer a taste of history

The Douglas County Historical Society's Taste of the Towns fundraiser is 5-9 p.m. Saturday at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center.

Taste and browse restaurants and other businesses from Mill Street to Douglas Avenue, with more food booths set up in the parking lot of the Gardnerville museum. Restaurants on the walking tour include the Overland, JT Basque Bar & Dining Room, Sharkey's, Two Guys from Italy and Cafe Girasole.

Participating businesses are Ruby Rose and Country Carousel.

Food booths in the parking lot of the museum include Port of Subs, Papa Murphy's, Margarita Man, Tahoe Ridge Winery, Bella Vita Catering, Sugar Plum Bakery, Doppelgangers and Buona Sera. Merchants are Whiskers & Paws Catering, and AR Jewel Enterprises, distributors of mangosteen fruit juice.

Music is provided by Mike Maloney at the JT, and Ben Crocker at the museum. Parking available at Carson Valley Middle School.

Tickets are $25, or $20 for historical society and Thrivent members available at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville. Information, 782-2555.
