EDITOR:
Why should Ted Thran continue to serve as our county clerk-treasurer? Simply, because he has the credentials, a proven track record, and most important to me, a strong desire to manage that office.
Lynn Hettrick is a nice man, a good politician and a lobbyist. Don't we want the Douglas County clerk-treasurer office to manage our county's finances, maintain efficient voting, and serve the people of Douglas County with no other agenda's? I've known Ted Thran for many years.
As a CPA he is extremely capable in the areas of finance, accounting, and taxes. He is efficient and does the job that needs to be done. We have all seen in the last few years what happens when politics and business become one and the same. We the taxpayers and citizens get less than what our vote demands.
Please ask yourself this one simple question before you vote in June. Do you want a politician and lobbyist representing you as our clerk-treasurer or do you want a highly qualified, experienced, reliable candidate like Ted Thran? At a critical time like this in our county's finances we can't afford to play politics.
