Minden native Mildred (Millie) J. Broadfoot, 80, died April 15, 2010, in Shingle Springs, Calif., of complications from stroke
Born June 29, 1929, in Minden to Henry and Marie Dreyer, she met Bob Broadfoot in 1950 and the couple were married Feb. 18, 1951, in Gardnerville.
Mrs. Broadfoot worked for the state until the birth of their first child and became a stay-at-home mom for the next 16 years, then worked for Sacramento County for another 13 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, and their grandson Matthew.
She is survived by her sister Louise Young of Carson City; brother Roland (Joan) Dreyer of Minden; sons Mike (Debbie) of Sacramento, Dave (Pam) of Shingle Springs; two grandsons Tony (Jillian) of South Lake Tahoe and Robert of Sacramento; and three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of a formal service, she requested that everyone take a moment and remember her.
Because of Millie's love for animals, the family requests that donations be made to the Grace Foundation of Northern California at www.thegracefoundationofnorcal.org or P.O Box 4692, El Dorado Hills, CA, 96762, to help build a stall barn in her honor.
East Lawn Mortuary of Sacramento is in charge of arrangements.
