Harrah's and Harveys Lake Tahoe were recently recognized by the NV Energy Sure Bet Program as major partners in implementing energy efficiency measures at the two casino resort properties.
The recent rebate from NV Energy of $57,589.82 brings the two-year total to $144,429.86 in rebates, according to a prepared release. In that time, a 2,158,460 kWh energy savings (266 kW demand reduction) have been achieved at Harrah's and Harveys through energy efficiency measure implementation.
Harrah's and Harveys increased energy efficiency through a combination of initiatives including replacement of standard lighting with compact fluorescents, installation of LED lighting, lowering thermostats just a few degrees and turning off unused lights and lighting through a property-wide "power down" initiative, among other programs.
