Week after Easter is time of joy

Special to The R-C

Holy Humor Sunday services are 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. today at Carson Valley United Methodist Church.

The early Christian Church celebrated an Easter tradition that joy and laughter should follow Jesus' Resurrection. Early Christians knew the value of a good laugh, especially when the joke was on the devil.

The Easter experience of an empty tomb and all it represents is a time of joy and celebration.

The Sunday after Easter at Carson Valley United Methodist is a time of laughing at the one defeated in the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior.

Carson Valley United Methodist Church is at 1375 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville. Information, 782-4600.
