Suspected vodka theft results in arrest

Bail was set at $25,000 for a 28-year-old Minden woman jailed on a burglary charge for allegedly stealing a $3.69 bottle of vodka from a Minden market. Jessica Lang is to appear in East Fork Justice Court today.

According to reports, the owner of the market observed her Sunday concealing a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream under a jacket and attempt to leave the store.

He told her he would not call authorities if she would put the bottle back. The owner said she allegedly returned the bottle, but grabbed a $3.69 bottle of White Wolf vodka, pushed past the owner, and ran out of the store. He contacted deputies the next day and identified Lang by her mohawk hair cut from previous contacts with law enforcement.

Deputies arrested her at her parents' home in Minden where she said she was performing chores to earn $10 to repay the store owner.
