Mobile car detailing service 'cleans every crevice'

Before and After Mobile Detailing Service is Ruhenstroth resident William Sarmiento's third business.

He ran a night club in New York City before relocating to Las Vegas, where he ran a mobile courier service. After meeting his wife Juana, he moved again to Carson Valley and started Before and After Mobile Detailing Service, which offers cleaning and detailing of cars down to shampooed rugs and compound polishing wax.

"We clean everything, every crevice," Sarmiento said on Monday. "In the past, I built up a business to a certain extent until I got bored and sold it, then I would start another."

But with three kids, Sarmiento is ready to settle down in a place he called "nice and peaceful."

"Of course we took the economy into account, but everything is a risk whether the economy is good or bad," he said. "You have to take a chance."

To stay competitive, Sarmiento researched the pricing of other car washes and mobile services in the area.

"People see that our prices are good and our work is good, and they recommend us," he said.

So far, word-of-mouth has carried the small company, as well as a batch of 2,000 fliers.

"We've been able to maintain and pay bills," Sarmiento said. "We're reliable, honest and hardworking."

He said his company is also teaming up with Pamper U in Gardnerville for a joint promotion.

"We always have specials," he said.
