Sheriff swears in new deputies

Two full-time deputies and two reserves recently joined the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Ron Pierini presided over a swearing-in ceremony on Sept. 8.

Joining the department are deputies Robert Hines and Douglas Midkiff and reserves Al Trimarchi and Bruce Rosin.

Hines retired after 28 years with Verizon. He enjoys outdoor activities, and is active in his church and the community.

Midkiff is a graduate of Whittell High School and was self-employed prior to joining the sheriff's office.

Prior to joining the reserves, Trimarchi assisted with the department's canine training.

Rosin retired as a lieutenant after 26 years with Redondo Beach Police Department in Southern California.
