Entertainment and football at CVI

Major Link continues in the Carson Valley Inn Cabaret Lounge through Sunday and M8trix plays Sept. 22-27. Monday Night Football plays in the Cabaret Lounge on Mondays.

San Francisco Bay area band Major Link covers a range of today's pop, R & B, and good ol' rock 'n' roll music. Major Link is Terry Saunders on guitar and Mary Owens on keyboards and vocals.

M8trix performs the best of Motown, R&B, pop and jazz. The band is led by vocalist Stephanya, who is joined by guitarist David Council, Eric "EQ" Young on bass, drummer Adam Lipsky and James "Jimi" McKinney on keyboards.

Live entertainment presented with no cover and no minimum with five 45-minute shows starting on the hour at 7 p.m. Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and on the half-hour starting at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Monday Night Football plays in the Cabaret Lounge on Mondays with big-screen action, food and beer specials and prize drawings.

The CVI Cafe Cabaret is open 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sundays and 5 p.m. until the end of the third quarter on Mondays.

Live music by All Hat No Cattle, 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, at the last Minden Farmers Market of the season on Esmeralda Avenue in downtown Minden. All Hat No Cattle is Natalie Nielson and Krista Jenkins who play old-time country from the 1920s to Patsy Cline, Emmylou Harris and Mary Chapin Carpenter.

Baroque concert at ArtBar

The Dream Spirit Baroque Band plays 7-9 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Purple Cow ArtBar in the Copeland Cultural Arts Center, 1572 Highway 395, Minden. The four-piece band plays classical, Celtic, pop and folk chamber music featuring a belly dancing violinist. Bar BQ Boys at Suds and Duds

Check out 2009 Candy Dance merchandise at the Suds and Duds event and Bar BQ Boys concert, 5 p.m. Saturday, at the Genoa Bar. The Bar BQ Boys are Johnny Walter on upright bass and harmonica, Robert Smile on guitar, Paul Cutunilli on mandolin and vocals, Tom Goodlunas on fiddle and vocals and Michael Chambon on banjo, dobro and vocals. Their repertoire includes bluegrass classics by Bill Monroe, Chicago-style blues and rock 'n roll by Pink Floyd, Cream and Led Zeppelin.


Cowboys play Candy Dancin' music
