Volleyball: Reno sweeps Douglas

The Douglas High volleyball team suffered its first loss at home in almost two years Thursday night, falling 25-22, 25-19, 25-23 to No. 4 Reno.

The Tigers had built a 15-9 lead in the first set before Reno came out of a timeout and grabbed control of the momentum in the match with a 7-0 run.

The run included three errors on Douglas' part, which was symptomatic of a larger problem on the night for the Tigers, who committed 30 errors in the match.

The Tigers also had leads of at least four point in each of the three sets, only to see Reno regain control in each instance.

Jourdan Burke and Shannon Dugan each combined for eight kills to lead the Tigers while Emily Garcia and Brenna White each had four, Christine DuPuis had three and Erin Allison had two.

Jackie Harper doled out 20 assists and Nikki Chavez had six. White and Mysta Townsell each had two aces.
