District offers free Child Find screening

If you suspect that your 3-5-year-old child may have problems with speech, language, cognitive, social, or emotional skills and/or fine or gross motor delays, Douglas County School District is offering a free Child Find screening 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Minden Elementary School, 1170 Baler Street. This is an opportunity for parents and their children to meet with school district staff and discuss concerns about early childhood development.

If your child is suspected of having a developmental delay, the child will then be recommended for further free evaluations conducted by the school district and may be eligible for school services.

If you have any questions about Child Find or other early childhood services, please contact special services at 265-5262.
