Child Find screens for developmental delays



The Douglas County School District Early Childhood Special Education Program is holding a Child Find, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Jan. 28 at Minden Elementary School.


The Child Find screens children ages 3 to 5 years for possible delays in speech, language, cognitive-preacademic skills, self-help and/or motor skills. For information about the Child Find, call 782-4355.


The Douglas County Early Childhood Special Education Program is a district-wide special education program serving 3- to 5-year-old children with special needs.


Many services are available through the program for those children who qualify.


These services include developmental preschool, speech and language therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, adaptive physical education, behavioral/social-emotional intervention and consultation with local preschools.


The Douglas County Early Childhood Special Education Program is committed to fostering the continuous growth and development of each child by aligning its services to meet the uniquely different needs of each student in the program.
