MINDEN, Nev.
Area artists from Nevada and California are wanted to make submissions for the Carson Valley Art Association scholarship fine art show Nov. 6-8 at the CVIC Hall in Minden.
Work accepted in the media of oil, acrylic, watercolor, photography, mixed media, pastel and 3D art of sculpture and glass. Entries must be original and available for sale.
The Best in Show award is $100 and a ribbon. First place in each media receives $75 and a ribbon. Ribbons awarded for second, third and honorable mentions.
Each artist is allowed three entries with no size limitation. The fee per entry is $6 for members, $10 for non-members and $5 high school students. Membership fees not accepted at receiving.
Entry forms and show rules available in galleries in Carson Valley and Carson City, or by calling Ron Clarke at 782-8035.
Receiving is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 5. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 6, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 7 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 8.
An artists' reception with refreshments is 6 -8 p.m. Nov. 6.
A raffle for prizes donated by artists and local businesses is 2-3 p.m. Nov. 8.
The proceeds of the show provide scholarships to continuing art students from Douglas and Whittell High Schools.
