Nevada firefighter and author Shawn Grady meets readers and signs copies of his book, "Through the Fire," 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 17, at the Douglas County Public Library, 1625 Library Lane, Minden.
Grady has been a firefighter and paramedic in Reno for 10 years and is a former employee of the East Fork Fire & Paramedic Districts in Douglas County.
His job duties have taken him from city high-rise fires to the burning of heavy timber in the eastern Sierra. He lives with his wife and three children in Reno.
Grady's first novel, "Through the Fire," was published by Bethany House in 2008. More at shawngradybooks.com
