Continuing with Jesse's work

We are saddened this week by the death of Jesse Bower, husband Douglas County Historical Society President Grace Bower, and an invaluable help to all in the historical society. Jesse and Grace had been married 57 years and had two sons and a daughter.

Jesse was always working somewhere at the Gardnerville museum, installing something, changing light bulbs, mowing lawns, setting up things or taking them down again. There was no project, inside or out, that Jesse couldn't do and there were many events and exhibits that would not have happened without him. He will be greatly missed. In fond memory of Jesse, we will continue on with the work he loved.

Saturday is the long awaited Student-Senior Day where you have the opportunity to see our latest melodrama, "Hotel Minden," one more time. Videos of the melodrama which was performed live last January will be shown at 11 a.m. and again at 1 p.m. See it again or see it for the first time. Students accompanied by an adult or a senior, 65 and over, can see it for free.

Before you say, "But I've seen it," or, "I don't have time," remember that the playwright and the director will be watching to see if you are there. Your attendance could be the very thing that inspires them to write and direct another smash hit melodrama this coming January. Be sure to be there to applaud loudly so we can have another melodrama next year.
