The Douglas County Senior Center's 10th annual USO Veterans Day celebration 10:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the senior center, 2300 Meadow Lane in Gardnerville.
The event honors local men and women who served or continue to serve in the Armed Forces. Veterans and widows of veterans are encouraged to wear their uniforms and medals. Veterans' photographs and memorabilia will be on display.
Speakers include Adjutant of the American Legion Department of Nevada Lionel Motta, Jeffery Mark and Sheriff Ron Pierini. Music provided by the Douglas High School Jazz Band. Flag presentation by Carson Valley VFW Post 8583. Lunch follows the ceremony.
