The Douglas County Senior Center's ninth annual USO Veterans Day Celebration is 10 a.m. to noon Monday at the senior center, 2300 Meadow Lane in Gardnerville.
The event honors men and women who have served and continue to serve in the Armed Forces. Speakers include Lionel Motta, adjutant of the American Legion Department of Nevada, Chief Master Sgt. Ken Gray of the Nevada Air Guard and Douglas County Sheriff Ron Pierini as master of ceremonies. The Douglas High School jazz band will perform and a flag presentation will be made by Carson Valley VFW Post No. 8583.
All veterans and widows are encouraged to wear uniforms and medals. Veteran memorabilia will be featured. Lunch follows the ceremony.
