Thanksgiving at the Carson Valley Inn

The Carson Valley Inn in Minden celebrates Thanksgiving on Thursday, Nov. 26, with holiday dinner specials in Fiona's Bar and Grill and Katie's Country Kitchen.

Fiona's Bar and Grill, inside the Carson Valley Inn, offers the regular menu plus Thanksgiving dinner, 1-9 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Fiona's Thanksgiving dinner special features Diestal Farms wood-roasted tom turkey with giblet pan gravy, herb dressing with fried sage and Granny Smith apples, mashed potatoes and bourbon-maple candied yams, green beans, creamed mushrooms and French fried onions and cranberry sauce. This holiday spread is $21.95 per person or $8.99 for children under 10.

All dinner entrees include Fiona's soup and salad bar with more than 70 items including lager-steamed peel-and-eat shrimp, pasta salad, grilled chicken salad, tuna salad, fresh sliced fruits and seasonal berries, assorted salad greens and salad toppers, New England-style clam chowder and Nantucket corn chowder, and squaw bread. Dessert included with choice of pumpkin pie, apple pie, cheesecake or ice cream. Fiona's will be seating guests in order of arrival for Thanksgiving dinner.

Katie's Country Kitchen in the Carson Valley Inn offers the regular menu plus two Thanksgiving day dinner specials from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The roast tom turkey special is $12.99 and is served with giblet gravy, traditional bread and herb stuffing, whipped potatoes and candied yams, peas and pearl onions and cranberry sauce. Virginia-style baked ham with rum raisin sauce, cabernet wild rice pilaf and roasted carrots is $8.49. Both specials include choice of garden salad or Nantucket corn chowder, breads and butter, and dessert choice of pumpkin pie, apple pie or ice cream. Specials are $5.99 for children under 10.

The Carson Valley Inn (www.cvinn.com) is located on U.S. Highway 395 near the intersection of State Highway 88 in Minden, Nev. The hotel, casino, and RV resort built its reputation through the friendly service of its more than 500 employees.
