A celebration of life is 1:30 p.m. June 6 at the home of seven-year Minden resident Don Jones, 69, who died May 14, 2009, in Carson City. He was born June 6, 1939, in Stantonville, Tenn., to T.J. and Mamie Jones.
Mr. Jones was retired after 42 years as a real estate broker in Pleasanton, Calif. He loved the outdoors, was an avid fisherman and hunter, and took motor home trips with his Flocking Flamingos camping group.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 20 years, Genny Jones; brothers Randy and Wallace; "mother" Johnnie Jones; sons Donnie and Shawn; daughters Tammy, Barbara Ann Gross and Lynda Tucker; 17 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He will be missed by his family, friends and his dog and companion Muttley. Arrangements are in care of FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center in Carson City.
