A Douglas County man died Friday when his ATV was struck while crossing State Route 88 at Dressler Lane.
Bill Cervantes Sr., 61, entered the intersection right in front of an SUV driven by Chad Owens, 39, of Gardnerville. The front of the SUV hit the right side of the yellow ATV.
Cervantes, a Gardnerville resident, was Care Flighted to Renown Regional Medical Center but died of his injuries shortly after 6 p.m.
Owens was not injured in the accident.
A spokesman for the Nevada Highway Patrol said traffic is controlled by stop signs on Dressler Lane at that intersection. Troopers were reported still investigating the accident and have asked that anyone who may have seen the accident contact Trooper Chris Austin at 687-0400.
