Showcase a big hit with business

EDITOR:

On behalf of the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Authority, I'd like to thank all of those responsible for the very successful ninth edition of the Business Showcase.

I will start with our sponsors; The Record-Courier, GE Energy, E Squared C, Pro Group Management, Scolari's and McClain's Mobile Music. Their participation ensures that the largest trade show in Carson Valley continues year after year.

I'd also like to thank the 71 businesses that invested their time, energy and resources to exhibit at the event. They demonstrated the vibrancy that is at the core of the Carson Valley business community and their commitment to the community at large.

Chamber staff and the chamber ambassadors put literally hundreds of hours into the planning and organizing of the showcase and on the days of the event, the Active 20-30 Club and Valley Cruisers stepped up to provide invaluable assistance to exhibitors and thirsty attendees. The young men from China Spring Youth Camp helped with the heavy lifting and as always, the staff from the parks & recreation department was pleasant and efficient.

Most importantly, I'd like to thank the more than 700 members of the community who joined close to 200 representatives of the exhibitors at the event. It's not worth doing if the community doesn't support it, and your turnout in the wind says the showcase is worth your valuable time.

Again, on behalf of the staff and board of directors of the chamber, thank you and we'll see you next year.

Bill Chernock

Executive Director

Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Authority

P.S. The winner of the grand prize, an HP laptop computer from E Squared C, was Michael Needham, who did not put any contact information on his entry form. Michael, you need to get in touch with E Squared C before the end of May to claim your prize.
