A memorial service is 1 p.m. Friday at High Sierra Fellowship for Sharon Melnick, 47, who died May 2.
Born Feb. 22, in Sacramento, Calif., she attended Douglas High School and later moved to Reno, where she attended Truckee Meadows Community College and received a degree in architectural engineering.
She loved animals and the outdoors.
She is survived by her father, Alex Melnick of Port Angeles, Wash., and a sister, Patty Vick, of Wellington.
The church is located at 1426 Industrial Way in Gardnerville.
