Stepping into cow pasture golf

Staff Reports

The Antelope Valley Lions Club's ninth annual Cow Pasture Golf Tournament is April 4. Sign-up is 8-9 a.m. at Baldo Giorgi ranch, located one mile east of Highway 395 on Topaz Lane in Topaz, Calif. Signs will get you there.

Cost is $25 per person or $15 if you just want a great lunch. We will match you up with other players, or you can bring your own team. It's a blind draw, so you can't stack your team scores and take advantage of our fairness.

Lunch is the best barbecue ribs and chicken perfected by us over more than 45 years, along with potato salad, beans, rolls, and dessert. Raffle prizes are also part of the fun.

All proceeds go to scholarships for Coleville High School students in the name of Jackie Giorgi, who started the sports program at the school, which has provided many great athletes over the years, along with building positive citizens in our area. This event is our way of saying thanks to her, school administrators, coaches and supporters of the high school.

Hope to see you there. It's an experience you'll never forget. Call any Lions Club member for more information or to sign up. Don Penfield, (530) 495-2694.
