The Spring Fling Sock Hop fundraiser at Jacks Valley Elementary School was March 6. Students and teachers dressed in poodle skirts, black leather jackets, ponytails with ribbons, rolled up blue jeans and white T-shirts. It brought back memories of "Happy Days" with the Fonz.
Jacks Valley music teacher Heather Kuehner rocked as the DJ with her two-foot tall pink hair and pink satin blouse. Each class contributed raffle baskets with gifts for movie night, sports, gift cards, scrapbooking and family fun and games.
Lisa Schyte and her son Derek walked on stilts, there was face painting, a bake walk and Hula Hoop contest. They had deli sandwiches, chips, popcorn and soda.
