Gardnerville's Keegan named Miss Nevada

RENO - Christina Keegan in her last year of eligibility, was crowned Miss Nevada Saturday night at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts.

Keegan, a Gardnerville resident and 2004 graduate of Douglas High, was competing as Miss Northern Counties.

Keegan, who has been performing for six years, said her platform was Strength of Silence - rape education and recovery.

A former Miss Carson Valley in 2008, Keegan graduated from the Undergraduate Women's College at Rosemont, Pa., with a bachelor of science degree in biology in 2008.

The first runner-up was Miss Truckee Meadows Cassandra Walker. Second runner-up was Miss Southern Counties Kellie Mills, and Miss Reno-Sparks Sarah Wilson was third runner-up.

Keegan was crowned by the 2008 Miss Nevada Julianna Erdesz, a former Miss Carson City.
