Good work on Carson Valley Days celebration

As Carson Valley Days approaches its centennial, it's good to know that the party is still rocking, and its rural flavor preserved.

For all the events going on and all the people attending them, the weekend was relatively quiet.

The parade went off as planned, thanks to the efforts of Active 20-30 Club and by all reports was well attended.

All someone had to do was travel through Gardnerville on Saturday afternoon to see the increase in traffic.

Celebrating Carson Valley Days is part of the heritage of this Valley and is one of the things that brings us together.

Whether it's tractors or beauty queens or even the occasional politician, Carson Valley Days reflects who we are as it passes down the thoroughfare of time.

Our thanks go out to those who dedicated their time and hard work to making sure this oldest of Carson Valley traditions succeeded once more.

Hopefully, its organizers are enjoying a well-deserved rest in the wake of this year's celebration.

They earned it.
