Greater Nevada Credit Union wins award

Greater Nevada Credit Union's Minden branch received the Partnership Award for outstanding volunteerism from the Douglas County Public Library.

Presented at the library's annual volunteer reception, the Partnership Award recognizes volunteerism by businesses based on their overall contribution as well as the length and consistency of their contribution to the library.

In 2008, the Minden branch volunteered 40 hours with the Douglas County Public Library, helping them with a variety of activities including checking books in and out, sorting and shelving books, and answering phones.

The Douglas County Public Library System is a member of the Cooperative Libraries Automated Network consortium.

This consortium includes public libraries in 15 of Nevada's 17 counties, the Nevada State Library and Archives, the Supreme Court Law Library and Sierra Nevada College.

To volunteer, contact the Douglas County Public Library at 782-9841.
