Today is the last day of the Nevada Legislature. The session, which started in February has seen a complete reversal of how budgets are built. Gov. Jim Gibbons initial budget was ignored and the Legislature, which could count on enough votes to override one Gibbons' veto after another, developed a new budget, worked out taxes to pay for it and approved the lot.

Sierra Front Wildfire Cooperators responded to about a dozen lightning strikes in the mountains on Sunday. According to the interagency dispatch in Minden, the Bureau of Land Management, Forest Service and Nevada Division of Forestry are staffing the strikes to make sure they don't spread.

A Minden woman is seeking diversion into a program for those caught driving under the influence. Jasmine Coty, 27, admitted she had a .19 blood alcohol level when she hit another car in a parking lot back in February. Coty was on probation for a second DUI at Lake Tahoe when the Minden accident occurred.

Three days with some sort of weather warning and we've yet to have some sort of weather worth being warned about. The big weather happened out in the desert east of Fallon. Apparently there was a flash flood out in Middlegate along Highway 50. Today there's a 50 percent chance of rain through 11 p.m.
