Cancer doesn't sleep and neither did the hundreds of people who walked and remembered throughout the night Saturday during the 12th annual Relay for Life in Gardnerville.
Relay for Life was created in 1985 as a way to remember loved ones lost to cancer, to honor survivors and to raise money for cancer research.
More than 60 area Relay for Life teams held fundraisers during the year to raise at least $112,000 for the American Cancer Society.
